Johnston Woods, located near Cleveland, Tennessee, offers a serene and beautiful environment for outdoor enthusiasts. The area features two main trails: a 1.4-mile trail and a 3.2-mile trail. These trails are relatively flat, well-maintained, and hard-packed, making them accessible for most hikers.
The trails are open to the public, although the Johnston Woods Retreat Center is privately owned by Broad Street United Methodist Church. In addition to hiking, the trails are also popular for mountain biking and running. The trails are well-marked and border private property, so users are only allowed to be on the marked trail.
Parking can be challenging sometimes but you can typically find parking at the museum or along the road surrounding it.
